It is 1947 and Charlie, a genocide survivor having escaped the genocide and grown up in the USA, repatriates back to Armenia to connect with his homeland, only to be greeted with the harsh reality of Soviet Communism. Ending up in a Soviet prison he is hopeless and alone, when an earthquake damages the prison wall and through a hole he can see into a nearby apartment. The Armenian couple who live there become Charlie’s only connection to the outside world, and unaware they are being watched, the couple slowly reveal the soul of Armenia that has been hidden behind the iron curtain.
