Our first ever retrospective film in honour of 100 years of Armenian cinema.
Artyom, a famous young physicist, is in love with Lyusya, a sergeant in the Red Army, who is suddenly ordered to the front. Meanwhile, he is sent to remote Mount Aragats to set up the Cosmic Ray Research Station, considered by authorities of great wartime importance.
Based on the real-life figure of Artem Alikhanyan, who during the second world war became one of the pioneers of Soviet nuclear physics.
An intriguing and poetic tale of lost love, the film presents a metaphysical, contemplative dimension, breaking away from the traditional historical dramas or comedy films of its time. Released in 1966, Hello, It’s Me was entered into competition at Cannes that year and awarded by the State Prize of Armenia in 1967. In 2023 it was screened again as part of Cannes Classics in its restored version, in honour of 100 years of Armenian Cinema.
Restored in 2023 in 4K digital resolution by the National Cinema Centre of Armenia.
