Armenia fund benefactors visit Artsakh prime minister

Artsakh Prime Minister Ara Harutyunian meets with Hayastan All-Armenia Fund benefactors in Stepanakert


STEPANAKERT (ArmRadio)—The Prime Minister of Artsakh, Ara Harutyunian, received a group of benefactors of the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund on Wednesday, headed by executive director Ara Vardanian. A number of issues concerning Artsakh’s development were discussed during the meeting.

 

Ara Harutyunian emphasised the importance of such meetings organised every year as a chance to present an account on the works done. According to him, a number of projects have been brought to life during the previous year by the joint efforts of the government and the Fund: construction and renovation of schools, community centers, water pipelines, etc. Ara Harutyunian mentioned the reconstruction of the road Vardenis-Martakert as a strategic project for Artsakh

The head of government spoke about the village Araksavan founded on the bank of the river Araks and the pumping station in Talish, which will irrigate more than 1000 hectares of land.

Ara Haroutyunian also referred to works implemented to improve the use of water. An overwhelming majority of the population is satisfied with 24-hour running water, he said. The Prime Minister said that water supply problems would be solved by 2017 as iterated in the pre-election program of President Bako Sahakian.

In his speech the executive director of the fund Ara Vardanian emphasised the significance of such visits from the viewpoint of transparency.

At the end of the meeting Haroutyunian thanked all the benefactors of the fund for consistent participation in the development of Artsakh.
