SYDNEY: The Armenian National Committee of Australia (ANC Australia) has announced it will be taking part in the biggest event of the Armenian-Australia calendar this year; the Armenian Festival 2012.
The Armenian Festival, which is to be held on December 9th at Sydney’s premier entertainment district, Tumbalong Park in Darling Harbour, will showcase the Armenian culture, history, food and entertainment to an expected audience of over 25,000.
ANC Australia Executive Director, Vache Kahramanian remarked: “We are delighted to take part in this initiative which is no doubt going to be a huge success. We are excited to showcase the proud Armenian history and traditions to the wider Australian public.”
Narbeh Hacobian, a member of the Armenian Festival organizing committee, welcomed ANC Australia’s involvement in the Festival, which is co-organised by leading Armenian-Australian organisations.
He said: “ANC Australia plays an extremely important role as the peak public affairs committee of the Armenian-Australian community and we are delighted they are bringing their participation to the event.”
