SYDNEY: Last Sunday, in what has become an important tradition at Galstaun College, large numbers of students again attended the Palm Sunday service at the Armenian Apostolic Church of Holy Resurrection in Chatswood, to receive Holy Communion.
The passage leading up to the altar was full of Galstaun College students, from the Reception Kindergarten class up to senior high school, looking smart in their uniforms. Before receiving Holy Communion, the students listened attentively to the sermon presented by Father Avedis, who regularly provides scripture lessons at the College.
After the Palm Sunday Service, a group of the College students then gave outstanding performances, including Armenian poetry, vocal and music recitals, at the Palm Sunday luncheon organised by the Armenian Relief Society's "Araz" Chapter at the Armenian Cultural Centre in Willoughby.
