SYDNEY: The Armenian Professional Network of Australia (APN) has announced the organisation's inaugural APN Talks event hosted by the network's Medical and Allied Health Forum, set to take place on Tuesday 10 December 2024, at 7:00 pm at the State Library of New South Wales Dixon Room.

The event will feature a Keynote Address from Mr. John Brogden AM, an Australian businessman, former Australian politician, former Chair of Lifeline Australia, and current Honorary President of Lifeline International.

Brogden first started his career in politics as the Liberal Party’s Member for the Electorate of Pittwater and was elected Leader of the Opposition in 2002 on his 33rd birthday, making Brogden the youngest person to ever lead a major political party in Australia.

Brogden’s passion for mental illness recovery stems from his own suicide attempt which marked a turning point in his life and reframed the public discourse around depression and suicide.

Dr Kareen Mekertichian, who leads the Armenian Professional Network of Australia’s Medical and Allied Health Professional Forum, said, “Having Mr John Brogden, a leading advocate for mental health and suicide prevention, as our keynote speaker will be invaluable for Armenian healthcare professionals.
