SYDNEY: Sydney Armenians marked the 122nd Anniversary of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) with large crowds at two key events which featured international superstar singer, Harout Pamboukjian.
On Friday 30th November, nearly 600 packed Miramare Gardens in Terrey Hills for a Dinner Dance starring Pamboukjian and his four-man band - all invited from Los Angeles by the organising committee.
The Dinner Dance, sponsored by
Armenian property investment company HYECORP Property Group, went into the early hours of the morning and finished with Pamboukjian leading the gathered in revolutionary songs dedicated to the memory of those who have lost their lives in pursuit of a free, united and independent Armenia and Nagorno Karabakh.
On Sunday 2nd December, 500 community members and guests were treated to a Special Program dedicated to the ARF.
The Program featured videos prepared by the ARF Media in Armenia outlining the organisation's 122 years of activity. Members of the Armenian Youth Federation (AYF) of Australia recited quotes from ARF leaders from the organisation's rich past, while Unger Kevork Vartanian delivered an address on behalf of the ARF Australia Tro Gomide.
Vartanian highlighted ARF Australia's key recent achievements, including the success of its Time for Youth Initiative, which has delivered 18 young, new members to the ARF in Australia, as well as new members to the AYF and other sister organisations.
The event concluded with a special one-hour acoustic performance by Pamboukjian, which was very well received by all in attendance.
