SYDNEY: The secret is out! A decade's wait is over as legendary Armenian singer Harout Pamboukjian has been confirmed as the star attraction set to light up Sydney for a one night only Dinner Dance on the 2nd of December, 2011.

Pamboukjian, who will be joined on the trip from Los Angeles USA by four band members, is excited about returning Downunder and spending what will be an unforgettable "night of kef" with the Sydney Armenian community.

"I know many people say this about wherever they go, but I truly, honestly love Australia," said the bearded superstar.

"Sydney is one of the most beautiful cities I have had the pleasure of visiting in the world, and the community is very familiar to me. I cannot wait to get reacquainted and entertain everyone."

Armenia Online is the media sponsor for this event, and we announced a ticket giveaway a fortnight ago.

Readers were asked to guess that an old black-and-white picture of Pamboukjian was in fact the legend himself. We received hundreds of responses, most of which were correct. The winner of the two tickets, by way of a random draw of the correct responses, is Arin Markarian (we ask that you contact us at info@armenia.com.au to secure the tickets)!

The good news is we will be giving away free tickets regularly between now and the event! Like us on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/ArmeniaOnline and you will not miss our giveaways.

The Harout Pamboukjian Dinner Dance will be held at the new Renaissance Lidcombe, and will be in celebration of the 121st Anniversary of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation. ARF Bureau member Mr. Hagop Der Khatchadourian from Canada will be the organisation's guest of honour.

The event is being supported by Homenetmen, Hamazkaine, the Armenian Relief Society and the Armenian Youth Federation, who have each appointed members to the organising committee. The committee is made up of Mania Sevagian, Nora Hekimian, Narbeh Hacobian, Danna Manoukian, Hagop Gulumian, Maral Komchian, Susie Simonian (ARS), Silva Nazarian (Hamazkaine), Julie Zilifian (Homenetmen) and Tamar Gulumian (AYF).
