The Armenian Youth Federation of Australia Nigol Touman Chapter held its annual general meeting on Sunday the 18th of January.

With over 40 members present, the AGM allowed the AYF members to analyse the highly successful year of 2014 and provide positive as well as negative feedback that the following executive could take on board and use for the 2015 year.

The AGM followed suit of the 2014 year with an incredible start, with 19 members taking their oath to become official AYF members and take part in the meeting. There were a range of issues that were discussed throughout the meeting for the year with an obvious importance placed on April 24, which will mark the 100th anniversary of the Armenian genocide.

It was extremely encouraging to see 40 members of the Armenian Australian youth putting forward ideas to mark the centenary of the Armenian genocide as well as other issues of importance including Artsakh and Javakhk, public affairs, foreign relations, educational topics as well as placing a greater focus on our juniors, the Badenagan chapter.

It was a highly successful meeting with a lot of fantastic ideas as well as a lot of work put forward for the executive of 2015 to look into. The members then had their voice, voting in 5 members who would form the executive in one of the most important years that Armenians will ever be a part of. Unger Panos Borghonzian, Ungeroohi Tsoler Jeghelian, Ungeroohi Jacqueline Keverian, Ungeroohi Narine Akillian and Unger Aram Tufenkjian were voted as the representatives for the Armenian Youth Federation of Australia and we wish them all the success for the year.
